Rain, Rain, Go Away

I’m at the end of my rope with this crazy weather.  We have not seen blue skies in these parts for seems like weeks.  Actually it was 2 weeks ago.  When it stopped raining and the temperature rose to 90 degrees  before plummeting back down to the 50s and, you guessed it,  it started raining again.

I’m feeling a little gyped.  Spring is usually the most beautiful time of year in Northern Virginia.  It is usually filled with lots of flowering bushes and trees and beautiful low to mid-70s days.

Instead, today I went into the grocery store and the sky was dark, but clear.  Ten minutes later I walked back out into a torrential downpour that left me soaked from the neck down.

Why only from the neck down, you ask?  Did I have an umbrella handy?

Of course not, but a good Southern girl will do whatever she can to save her hairdo.

This may or may not have involved me putting a plastic grocery bag over my head and running like crazy to my car.

My pants might have become completely see through, but every hair on my head was bone dry.

Same here in TN. Had a decent day yesterday, first all week, Jim and I got flowers planted yesterday evening. But woke this morning to thunder and another downpour. Ready for a few days of sunshine!

Girl, this is a GOOD thing. If it were beautiful, you’d be waxing poetic on how you’ll miss VA….. and now since it’s raining all the time, won’t it be a tad easier to leave??? Or not. Because it’s not really the weather you’ll miss, is it?

Well, praise God the sun is shining in Tennessee today! Woo-Hoo! And I am laughing out loud thinking of the many times that a Wal-Mart bag, textbook, mail, whatever is handy has been sacrificed to save a hair-do. It must come from all those southern girl in the 80′s/Aqua Net experiences! : )
