I got my chemo last Wednesday on our way out of town so the girls were with me. As we left the hospital there were several signs hung all around talking about prostate health and some screenings that were scheduled.
Katie looked at me and said, “Mama, I know that men can get breast cancer, but can women get prostate cancer?”
I explained that no, because women don’t have a prostate gland, they won’t get prostate cancer. I then told them that I’d show them where the prostate gland was when we got home.
That’s what happens when you have a mother who is a nurse. She shows you everything.
“But while you are waiting, just know that when I have to check a guy’s prostate I have to stick my finger up his boo-tay.”
I know. I overshare.
Elena stopped dead in her tracks, looked up at me and said,
“WELL! I’ll just cross “nurse” off my list of things I want to be when I grow up!”
I can’t blame her.
Love her!!! Hilarious. Hope you’re well. xoxo

Catching up on your news. Read this one aloud to Kelly. You have started our day off with a laugh! Thanks for that! I rarely post to you, but you are in our thoughts and prayers always. Your family photo is on the fridge so I see you often (too often- it is the fridge!)
Love you! Elizabeth and Kelly
