I woke up from my chocolate induced coma this morning with renewed hope.
It lasted for about 2 hours.
By then the guys who installed the counter tops had come and gone. I had expected that soon afterward my house would return to normal.
What? You want to see my new counter tops?
Of course you do!
Here they are.
What? You say you can’t see them for all that crap stuff?
Yeah, well that would be all the assorted plumbing supplies that would be needed for the next thousand couple of hours.
This is the view of my husband that I had for most of the day.
He makes a pretty cute plumber, doesn’t he?
There were times during the day when I was certain that we were headed for disaster. There were a few choice words uttered, a few episodes of stomping up and down the stairs turning the water on and off, and even a slight injury requiring me to don my nurse practitioner hat.
But look what happened at 9pm tonight!
I never had any doubts.
Really.
Never.
Oh, by the way.
I decided to repaint the kitchen while we are at it.
Whatta ya think of the new color?
There may be more peppermint patties in my near future.
And I promise a full reveal of the new look soon.

GREAT JOB!!! I knew you could do it JD. I love the counters and the paint looks great too. Can’t wait to see it!!
You survived!! The countertops are beautiful, what is the name of the granite you picked out? It looks like the same thing I put in my little bathroom (I think it was called dandelion – some kind of flower, or weed!). Good job, JD… happy painting!
I always knew we had similar taste-the tops look just like mine. I love them-may have to take mine with me when I move. Yeah right!
Hope you got my email earlier.
Love ya
Now is that not the orange I painted it 3 years ago?!
I never doubted either. But that’s not my brother – that’s Mr. Clean!!!!
Love the countertops! Can’t wait to see ‘em in person. Sure you don’t need us to come down and paint? We’re good at that, you know.
